About Me

Insight, self-compassion & meaningful action

I'm Erica Lalor, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and therapist who believes that healing happens through a combination of insight, self-compassion, and meaningful action.

My path to becoming a therapist began with a fascination for understanding human behavior and the factors that shape our emotional well-being. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Seton Hall University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University. Throughout my training and clinical work, I became increasingly interested in approaches that help people move beyond simply understanding their struggles and toward creating lasting change in their lives.

My work is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and somatic principles that recognize the connection between the mind and body. I take a holistic view of mental health, understanding that emotional well-being is influenced by many interconnected factors, including relationships, physical health, movement, nutrition, lifestyle habits, and our relationship with ourselves.

I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and questions of identity and purpose. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that feels collaborative, authentic, and grounded in respect for each person's unique experiences and goals.

I also have a special interest in psychedelic integration and completed the Integrative Psychiatry Institute's Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Training Program. I recognize the therapeutic potential of psychedelic experiences while also understanding that insight alone does not always lead to change. Whether clients are preparing for a psychedelic experience or reflecting on one afterward, I help them explore how new perspectives can be integrated into everyday life in ways that support growth, healing, and long-term well-being.

Above all, I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered to reconnect with your strengths, values, and capacity for change.

My Approach

Less about theory. More about how it feels.

My aim isn't to teach you psychology - it's to help you feel more at home in your own life. Our work is collaborative, and I draw on several evidence-based modalities depending on what you need.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Mindfulness involves developing greater awareness of the present moment with curiosity and compassion. Rather than becoming caught up in worries about the future or regrets about the past, mindfulness can help clients build emotional resilience, reduce stress, and respond to life's challenges with greater intention and balance.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to emotional distress. Together, we'll explore how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, while developing practical tools to challenge unhelpful patterns and build healthier ways of coping. CBT can be especially helpful for anxiety, depression, stress, self-criticism, and life transitions.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps individuals develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than becoming stuck in a struggle against them. By cultivating mindfulness, self-compassion, and clarity around personal values, ACT supports clients in taking meaningful action toward the life they want to live, even when challenges are present.

Somatic and Mind-Body Approaches

Mental and physical well-being are deeply interconnected. Drawing from somatic principles and holistic approaches, I help clients explore how stress, emotions, and life experiences may be reflected in the body while considering the role of movement, sleep, nutrition, relationships, and lifestyle habits in overall wellness. This work can support greater self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and lasting change.

Psychedelic Integration

Psychedelic experiences can offer powerful insights, emotional breakthroughs, and new perspectives, but understanding how to integrate those experiences into everyday life can be challenging. Psychedelic integration therapy provides a supportive space to process these experiences, explore their meaning, and identify ways to incorporate insights into lasting personal growth and well-being.
