Therapy for Depression

When everything feels heavy or flat, therapy can help you find your footing again.

Depression can feel like low mood, exhaustion, loss of interest, self-criticism, or a sense of being stuck and disconnected from the things that once mattered. It can be quiet and hard to name.

Therapy offers a warm, non-judgmental space to understand what you're carrying, gently rebuild momentum, and reconnect with a sense of meaning and possibility.

Therapy for depression may help if you experience

  • Persistent low mood or emptiness
  • Loss of interest or motivation
  • Fatigue, changes in sleep or appetite
  • Harsh self-criticism or hopelessness

How we work

How I work with depression

I combine CBT to address the thoughts and patterns that keep depression in place with ACT and values work to help you take small, meaningful steps toward the life you want.

Mindfulness, somatic awareness, and attention to the whole person, including sleep, movement, and relationships, support lasting change rather than quick fixes.

Common questions

Is therapy enough, or do I need medication?
Therapy helps many people on its own. If medication might be useful, we can discuss a referral to a prescriber. I do not prescribe, but I can help you coordinate care.
Do you offer depression therapy online?
Yes. Sessions are available via secure video across New York State, and in person at the Brooklyn office.
