Therapy for Trauma & PTSD

Healing from trauma is possible, at a pace that always feels safe and in your control.

Trauma can live on long after an event, showing up as anxiety, hypervigilance, flashbacks, numbness, difficulty trusting, or a body that struggles to feel safe. These are understandable responses, not personal failings.

Our work moves at your pace, building safety and stability first, so you can process what happened without becoming overwhelmed and feel more grounded in the present.

Therapy for trauma may help if you experience

  • Flashbacks, intrusive memories, or nightmares
  • Feeling on edge, easily startled, or unsafe
  • Numbness, disconnection, or avoidance
  • Difficulty trusting or feeling close to others

How we work

How I work with trauma

I take a paced, collaborative approach grounded in safety. Somatic and mind-body practices help regulate the nervous system, while ACT and mindfulness support a different relationship with difficult memories and emotions.

You stay in control of the process throughout, and we never move faster than feels manageable for you.

Common questions

Will I have to talk about the details of what happened?
Not until you're ready, and never more than feels safe. We build stability and grounding skills first, and you remain in control of the pace throughout.
Do you offer trauma therapy online?
Yes. Sessions are available via secure video across New York State, and in person at the Brooklyn office.
